At the end of January 2019, the 20th European Energy Transition Conference will be held—an annual meeting of all European participants in energy transition and adapting to climate change. As in previous years, the event's co-organisers—the urban community of Dunkirk, Bordeaux Métropole, Greater Geneva, and the ADEME—are calling for national and international contributions in order to set the schedule for the event.
This "anniversary" edition of the event will notably be the opportune time to take a quick look back at 20 years of regional climate, air and energy policy, to take lessons from it, to confront big current issues, and most of all, to look forward 20 years into the future so that we may fill ourselves with inspiration and imagine together a future where human activity, quality of life, health and the environment have all found a balance.
EUROPEAN ENERGY TRANSITION CONFERENCE :
THE ANNUAL HIGHLIGHT FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN ENERGY TRANSITION FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS
Created by the urban community of Dunkirk in 1998 in partnership with the ADEME, and then co-organised by Bordeaux Métropole and Greater Geneva, the European Energy Transition Conference is celebrating their 20-year anniversary this year.
20 years of bringing economic, institutional, and academic difference-makers, along with citizens, together to focus on a common goal: creating a collective dynamic to guarantee successful regional energy transition. Each year, over three eventful days, no less than 3,500 attendees take the opportunity to tackle the big issues at hand, create new tools, develop new ways to cooperate, share successful experiments and concrete solutions around a fantastic programme comprised of over one hundred events: meetings, workshops, and themed visits.
HOW TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE 2019 PROGRAMME
Transport, town planning, agriculture, economy, new technologies, information system management, new partnerships and cooperation. From May 2nd to July 16th – 5 p.m., all those engaged in regional energy transition—elected representatives, citizens, businesses, researchers, universities, manufacturers, and technicians—are invited to submit their event contribution proposals, in the form of workshops, to the website www.assises-energie.net/en . Among the formats to choose from: "Inspiration" (experience sharing workshops), "Challenge" (co-creation spaces), as well as "Speed Dating" (a space to exchange ideas for project leaders).
