Oliver Bell (Hydro) elected as new President of Eurometaux – the European Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association
During its General Assembly held in Brussels on 27 October 2011, Eurometaux elected Oliver Bell as its new President.
Executive Vice President (EVP) of Norsk Hydro ASA, Chairman of the Hydro Supervisory Boards of Germany, and Chairman of the WVM (German non-ferrous metals association) initiative “Metals pro Climate”, Oliver Bell succeeds Javier Targhetta, CEO of Atlantic Copper (Spain) and President of Eurometaux since 2007.
“Oliver will be a great asset to Eurometaux and a tremendous leader for the ambitious programme of this association”, said Javier Targhetta. After his election, Oliver Bell underlined “his enthusiasm for working with the high-quality Eurometaux team and leading the European non-ferrous metals industry’s efforts to boost its competitiveness and to continue to develop sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by modern societies”.
With a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne, Oliver Bell joined the Aluminium industry in 1989 and Hydro Aluminium in 2002.
