HM King Frederik X of Denmark attends stone laying ceremony for cutting-edge wind turbine factory in Poland

Today His Majesty the King Frederik X of Denmark, Vestas CEO Henrik Andersen, Szczecin Mayor Piotr Krzystek and WindEurope Deputy CEO Malgosia Bartosik took part in Vestas' foundation stone ceremony for its new nacelle and hub assembly factory in Szczecin, Poland. The new factory is the latest example of the industry’s commitment to expand the European wind supply chain to help meet Europe’s energy security and climate objectives.

S&Ds secure new rules for a paradigm shift from a throw-away economy to the right to repair

Last night, the European Parliament, the EU Council and the Commission reached an agreement on the common rules promoting the repair of goods. The new law sets measures to strengthen the right to repair goods - from vacuum cleaners to smartphones or washing machines - and promote a more sustainable consumption across Europe.

EU Commission paves the way for a stronger EWC Directive

The European Commission today presented its proposal for a revision of the Directive on European Works Councils (EWCs), the voice of workers in multinational companies. The proposed revisions are a first step towards improving the Directive. Trade unions will continue to fight for the inclusion of key elements to give EWCs genuinely stronger rights, as the ball is now in the court of the European Parliament and the Council’s.
