Annual conference brings in association and business leaders from across the European Union

Brussels, Belgium (May 15, 2012) – Over 100 association and corporate executives met at EuroConference 2012 to discuss best practices for associations in the European Union. Hosted by Kellen Europe, an association management company, it is the premier annual forum for association discussion in Brussels.

- Full self-regulation has not been successful in increasing the proportion of women on company boards, so some additional regulatory incentive for companies to recruit more suitable female candidates is  needed.

At its General Assembly meeting of 15 May 2012 CEEP unanimously appointed Valeria Ronzitti as General Secretary.

Commenting the vote, the President of CEEP, Hans Joachim Reck declared: “With the
appointment of Valeria Ronzitti CEEP enters a new phase. This choice represents a renewed commitment of CEEP members to a successful organisation. It translates in a commitment to strong public services within a strong, competitive and socially responsible Europe”.

Caritas Europa calls on the European Commission and EU Member States to guarantee the effective right to family life and family reunification for all migrants and beneficiaries of international protection. A joint statement by Caritas Europa and 19 other NGOs, has been sent to the European Commission and Member States today.
