Green Claims Directive: European Parliament makes an unclear step forward in the fight against greenwashing

Brussels, 12 March 2024 – The European Parliament has just set its position on the Directive on substantiation and communication of explicit environmental claims (Green Claims Directive) in its intent to simplify the administrative process particularly for simple claims. Today, a progressive majority – led by the S&Ds – has successfully steered the European Parliament to approve two key pieces of legislation aimed at slashing harmful emissions from trucks and industry: respectively the revised Weights and Dimensions of Trucks Directive to align freight transport with the Green Deal, and the revised Industrial Emissions Directive.&nbsp

Iratxe García: “In Ukraine and Gaza, international law and the right to live freely are at stake”
