S&D Group MEPs met with experts from academia, industry and civil society to discuss the effects of the robot revolution on Europe. The conference followed the adoption of the European Parliament’s first ever report on robots earlier this year.

A new guidance paper has been released to help directors better understand and meet their obligations when it comes to financial reporting.

S&Ds regret Commission's lack of ambition on the Mobility Package

Brussels, 8 November 2017

The second set of proposals for the Mobility Package presented today by the European Commission lacks ambition regarding C02 targets for cars and vans, according to the Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
 
The new plan includes a carbon-emissions-reduction target for passenger vehicles – cars and vans – of 15% by 2025 and 30% by 2030 compared to 2021 levels.

Pittella: Urgent action needed to prevent humanitarian crisis on Greek Islands this winter

The S&D Group is calling for the Council and Commission to work urgently with the Greek authorities to prevent a humanitarian crisis occurring this winter in refugee camps on the Greek islands. The S&D Group is calling for a debate on the issue to be added to the Parliament’s plenary session next week in Strasbourg.
