Acumen public affairs has announced an expansion of its team with four new hires to continue the development and growth of the company. The new arrivals include:

New study finds sunbeds to be effective in raising vitamin D levels

Brussels, 21 November 2017 – Sunbeds with a UVB component similar to solar summer sunshine may provide an effective alternate vitamin D source during winter months, according to a new Canadian study just published in the journal Dermato Endocrinology.
 

S&Ds call for action on sustainable cities at TOGETHER event this Thursday in Antwerp

S&Ds welcome end of geo-blocking of online goods or services

The S&D Group has welcomed the agreement reached yesterday between the Parliament, Commission and Council on new rules that would prevent geo-blocking of online content in the EU.

S&D Group vice-president responsible for the digital union, Josef Weidenholzer MEP, said:

ECR MEPs: We cannot end poverty without the private sector

Ahead of the EU-Africa Summit next week ECR MEPs have called today for the private sector to take a leading role in the EU's development policy.

The UN's Sustainable Development Goals face a funding gap of $2.5 trillion despite the $1.4 trillion already spent globally on foreign aid. The ECR Group believes that by using public money to leverage private investment, this funding gap could be reduced and the strain on the taxpayer reduced.

PES highlights true scale of violence against women

PES Women’s street protest in Brussels today aims to highlight the true scale of violence against women.

Organised together with the FEMM committee in the European Parliament, the event takes place ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women this Saturday.

Under the slogan 'Only the tip of the iceberg', some 50 women and men built a wall with the image of an iceberg at Place de Luxembourg, to highlight the fact that only a small part of the violence against women is visible.
