#EuropeTogether - LuxLeaks whistle-blower Antoine Deltour awarded Silver Rose for contribution to social justice

Antoine Deltour, the whistle-blower behind the LuxLeaks that exposed shady tax deals that allowed multinational companies to pay miniscule amounts of tax was today awarded the Special Jury Prize at the annual SOLIDAR Silver Rose Awards. The awards, held in the European Parliament, recognise organisations and individuals fighting for social justice in Europe and around the world.

On 23rd January 2018, the High-Level Task Force on Investing in Social Infrastructure in Europe, chaired by Romano Prodi and Christian Sautter, presented its final report.

The S&Ds are very concerned about the Turkish assault on the Syrian border enclave of Afrin, one of the territories held by the Coalition-backed Syrian Kurdish Group.

The European Parliament’s international trade committee today adopted a deal struck between Euro MPs and EU ministers in December of last year on combatting unfair cheap imports. Under the informal agreement, higher tariffs can be imposed against dumped or subsidised imports from non EU-countries to better protect European jobs and industries.

(23 January 2018) The Robert Schuman Centre at the European University Institute (EUI) has a new European Governance and Politics Programme (EGPP), aiming to foster high quality research on the EU and European integration, as well as create a platform for researchers to share theoretical perspectives and data sets to support their research on the EU.
