Parliament votes to remove vice-president Czarnecki after offensive remarks

An overwhelming majority of the European Parliament today voted to remove ECR Group vice-president Ryszard Czarnecki after his unacceptable comments regarding fellow MEP Róża Thun.

Parliament votes to end geo-blocking of online goods and services in EU

The European Parliament today voted to end geo-blocking of online goods and services in the EU. The vote means that websites and online retailers will not be able to block people accessing or purchasing from their website just because they are in another EU state.

Today the plenary of the European Parliament in Strasbourg backed the creation of a special committee to find out whether the multinational producing glyphosate - an active ingredient in broadly used pesticides - tried to influence independent scientific research and therefore EU legislation. The mandate, however, will be broader in order to analyse the system by which pesticides are approved into the European market.
