Polish government must face consequences if it refuses to respect basic democratic principles

The European Parliament will tomorrow back a resolution criticising the actions of the Polish government that threaten the rule of law in the country. The resolution reaffirms Parliament's support for the decision of the Commission to launch Article 7 procedures against the Polish government in December. The Commission and Council must be prepared to take real action if Warsaw continues to refuse to respect fundamental democratic principles.
 

Udo Bullmann: We need full investigation into murder of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová

Following the horrific murder of the journalist Ján Kuciak and his partner Martina Kušnírová in Slovakia this week, the S&D Group is calling for a full independent investigation into the deaths and a debate in the European Parliament on the protection of investigative journalists.

S&Ds demand a ban on the pesticides that kill bees and threaten biodiversity

Today the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) published a risk assessment report confirming that certain substances used in pesticides - neonicotinoids clothianidin, imidacloprid and thiamethoxam - are killing bees and other pollinators.
 
Our diversity is at stake since bees started to disappear in Europe in the 1990s, because 84% of plant species and 76% of food production are dependent on pollination by bees.

GIE releases the Small-Scale LNG database 2018

GIE releases its Small-Scale LNG 2018 database. The database provides the LNG industry and interested parties with an overview of the available, planned and announced small-scale LNG infrastructure and services in Europe. After being awarded this month The Most Supportive Gas Institution of the Year for its transparency tool ALSI at the Small-Scale LNG Summit 2018 in Milan, GIE continuously contributes to the increase of transparency in the LNG market.
