S&Ds call on the European Commission to demand better working conditions in Bangladesh

Five years ago, the world watched with great shock at the images of the collapsed clothing factory Rana Plaza in Bangladesh. The European Commission gave the government of Bangladesh a deadline to improve the working conditions and the government ignored this ‘red line’. The European Commission must now demand the government of Bangladesh to take its responsibility and ensure decent working conditions in all fast-fashion chains. The S&D Group urges the European Commission to initiate an investigation into Bangladesh's eligibility for EU trade benefits. 
 

S&Ds: international community should double the efforts to end the war in Syria

As the EU-UN second conference on the Future of Syria started today in Brussels, the Socialists and Democrats call on the EU members states for further ambitious pledges for Syrians in need, and reaffirm the call to the international community to intensify the efforts to end the war in Syria. As long as the war continues, the suffering of people will not end.

CLEPA Materials Regulation Event 2018: global cooperation along the whole supply chain is crucial

On April 18 and 19, CLEPA organised in Stuttgart, the 11th edition of its yearly “Materials Regulation Event”. The European Association of Automotive Suppliers hosted more than 230 high-level representatives from the entire automotive industry, coming from 50 countries.
