The Party of European Socialists will finalise the programme for selecting its common candidate for the 2019 elections at a special meeting in Riga, Latvia later this month.

The leader of the S&D Group, Udo Bullmann, has welcomed the decision by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to allow a ship carrying 629 migrants rescued from the Mediterranean Sea to dock in Valencia. The decision followed the refusal of new Italian Interior Minister to let the boat into Italy.

The European Construction Industry Manifesto for Digitalisation

CECE and most of the major European construction industry associations have joined forces to draft and agree on “The European Construction Industry Manifesto for Digitalisation”, which is released today. The Manifesto calls for strong political leadership from the EU, an appropriate regulatory framework on data policy and budgetary focus on digital skills, R&D and IT infrastructure.
