S&D MEPs met with Russian parliamentarians in Belgrade to discuss global challenges

For the past two days, a delegation of S&D MEPs met with Russian parliamentarians from the State Duma and the Federation Council in the framework of the second round of the ‘Belgrade Consultations’, and discussed their viewpoints related to climate change and combating terrorism. Participants presented and discussed their respective views on controlling and limiting the effects of climate change, as well as features related to the diverse approaches of combating terrorism, in order to respond better to the transnational and global challenges we all are facing.
 

Pannonia Bio name change reflects bioproduct development by Ethanol Europe

Dublin, 28 June 2018

Ethanol Europe Renewables (EERL) announces that its subsidiary Pannonia Ethanol is to change its name to Pannonia Bio with effect from July 1st, 2018. The change reflects EERL’s investment in new bioproduct development from grain. Pannonia Bio is Europe’s largest grain based biorefinery and is located in a leading Hungarian maize growing area.

PES leaders: Zoran Zaev and Edi Rama have earned their EU path

Progressive governments in Albania and FYR Macedonia made it possible for the two countries to achieve a 2019 start date for EU accession negotiations.

The path to EU membership for both countries is high on the agenda at the pre-summit meeting of Party of European Socialists prime ministers today, attended by FYR Macedonia prime minister Zoran Zaev as well as Alexis Tsipras of Greece.

It follows the agreement by EU ministers earlier this week that negotiations should begin next year.
