VDMA advocates the inclusion of e-Fuels as part of the CO2 fleet regulation for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles

Frankfurt, October 9, 2018 - Negotiations are currently under way at EU level to reorganise the CO2 fleet regulation for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The EU Commission's proposal currently gives manufacturers only two instruments at their disposal to improve their CO2 balance: further optimization of the internal combustion engine and thus consumption reduction or electric cars.

Female MEPs to host teenage girls at the European Parliament for the International Day of the Girl as a part of the global #Girl2Leader campaign

12 female Members of the European Parliament will host an event as a part of a global campaign taking place on five continents, led by the Women Political Leaders Global Forum (WPL) and aimed at encouraging teenage girls to consider a future in leadership.

GSMA announces European 5G Pioneer Award open for entry

5 October, Brussels: The GSMA announces that the ‘European 5G Pioneer Award’, which is part of the GSMA GLOMO Awards, is open for entry. Entries for the 2019 award will be accepted until Wednesday, 21 November 2018, with the winner announced at the GSMA Mobile World Congress taking place 25-28 February 2019 in Barcelona.
 

Voters in Romania boycott restrictive referendum on definition of family

A referendum in Romania asking voters to restrict the constitutional definition of family has failed to reach the required 30% turnout target.

Groups campaigning against the constitutional amendment had urged voters in Romania to boycott the referendum and to stay at home – a call that clearly resonated with families all over the country.
