At the meeting of the Executive Board of the Party of the European Left Party on 26-27 January 2019 in Brussels, the top candidates for the European elections were voted.  In addition, the election platform was confirmed with the following title:

 

The Party of European Socialists warmly welcomes today’s ratification of the Prespa agreement by the Greek parliament to bring a long-running dispute between Greece and FYR of Macedonia to an end.

 

Member States of the European Union are set to fail to protect marine wildlife from the impacts of intense underwater noise levels by 2020, despite a requirement to do so under EU marine law. 

 

This afternoon, European Parliament negotiators, the European Commission and member states reached an agreement on the Work-Life Balance, a file the Socialists and Democrats had been pushing for as an integral part of the European Social Pillar to bring social progress to Europeans. The S&D Group led the drive to strengthen the rights of workers with caring responsibilities and welcomes the progress made, but regrets member states' lack of ambition to back up their promised with concrete measures and money.
