S&Ds strengthen system of financial supervision in Europe

In tough negotiations, S&D MEP Pervenche Berès succeeded today in reaching an agreement between the European Parliament and member states on an EU strengthened system of financial supervision comprising the necessary upgrade to counter money laundering. We made significant progress in adding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors in the mandate of the European supervisory authorities (ESAs), as well as in protecting whistle-blowers.

(Brussels, 21 March 2019) FoodDrinkEurope, the organisation representing Europe’s food and drink industry, has updated its Acrylamide Toolbox in its 15th edition with new scientific and technological developments. The update of this toolbox is especially timely given the recent entry into force of the Commission Regulation establishing mitigation measures and benchmark levels for the reduction of the presence of acrylamide in food.
