A new paper by Koch et al. entitled “Degradation of brominated polymeric flame retardants and effects of generated decomposition products”  has recently been published in the journal Chemosphere. The same authors published earlier this year two papers on the same subject  . This paper provides a summary of the state on knowledge on the Polymeric FR and the author’s previous work on the substance.

 

Brussels, 24 April 2019 – Supported by FEDIOL since 2014, the EU legislation setting EU maximum levels on trans fatty acids has been approved by EU Parliament and Council and is adopted by the Commission today.

 

In the first 100 days of our Presidency, we pushed forward 90 pieces of EU legislation that bring large benefits to the lives of all Europeans (80 files concluded and 10 common understandings reached on the EU’s long-term budget).

 

The European Parliament voted today to confirm the agreement on an ambitious report on implementing transparency and disclosure reporting on the sustainability impact of financial products. The S&D Group took the lead on this file and succeeded on several key issues, including a more transparent approach on remuneration policies. Under the new rules, banks, insurance companies and pension funds will for the first time have to make visible how they include environmental, social and governance risks in their decision making process.

The European Parliament today backed new rules governing how companies relocate offices between EU member states. The S&D Group ensured that these new rules will stop companies artificially moving to another member state to avoid taxes or social legislation.
