Aluminium content in cars up 20% in the last three years

14 October 2019 - A new study published by European Aluminium estimates the average aluminium content of European produced cars to reach nearly 180 kg in 2019, meaning a 20% increase since 2016. The study also forecasts the average aluminium content to further increase to almost 200 kg per vehicle by 2025, in line with the most positive scenario that was developed in 2016. The positive outlook and uninterrupted aluminium growth is largely attributed to aluminium’s role in lightweighting cars and as an enabler of electromobility.

Announcing a common gas market in the Baltic Region

Riga, 8 October 2019. Eurogas Central and Eastern European Conference addressed the topic of gas market integration in the Baltic Region, with Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš and US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, stressing the importance of gas infrastructure, LNG, storage and diversified supply routes in building a robust energy system of the future. A common gas market will begin on 1 st January 2020 with Finland, Estonia and Latvia.
 

Students demonstrate strong technical and ethical competencies in exams as ACCA announces pass rates for September 2019 exam sitting

Pass rates for the latest exam sitting are announced today by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

More than 99,000 students around the world entered the September exam sitting, in which over 123,000 exams were taken. A further 51,269 exams were taken on demand between 1 July and 30 September 2019 - a 9% increase in exams taken when compared to the equivalent period to September 2018, showing the demand of ACCA continues to grow.
