A memorandum of understanding (MOU) renewal has been signed between ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and The IIA (the Institute of Internal Auditors).

The three-year agreement will further strengthen and extend the current cooperation agreement and allows both bodies to continue to work closely together to advance their respective professions.

The Socialists and Democrats call on the European Commission and the member states to finally remove the existing obstacle to automatic mutual recognition of learning periods within the European Union. For the S&Ds, this is the only way to a real European Education Area where young people are granted every opportunity to move freely and enrich their knowledge and experience.

The European Commission has released a gas decarbonisation legislative package. It addresses the challenge of integrating renewable and low-carbon gases in the existing gas market. This is welcome news for the forest fibre and paper industry. Our sector is already investing massively in greening its energy sourcing and is, with a 62% share of its energy, the largest industrial producer and consumer of renewable energy in Europe.
