ESWET's reaction to the proposed inclusion of Waste-to-Energy in the EU ETS

As the report proposes the inclusion of Waste-to-Energy in the EU ETS in 2028, ESWET assesses positively the measures introduced to support it.

Brussels, 24 January 2022 - ESWET welcomes the ENVI Committee draft report on the revision of the EU ETS provided that any inclusion of the Waste-to-Energy sector in the ETS is supported by concrete measures to avoid disruption of the waste management chain.

S&D Group secures solid Parliamentary Recommendations for Animal Transport

Today the European Parliament endorsed the outcome of eighteen months of work by the committee of inquiry on the protection of animals during transport (ANIT). In particular, the plenary in Strasbourg has voted a full set of recommendations to the Council and the Commission following the investigation of alleged contraventions and maladministration in the application of Union law in relation to the protection of animals during transport within and outside the Union.
