S&Ds call on the European Union to sanction Iranian officials, including all those associated with the morality police, who are found complicit in or responsible for the death of Jina Mahsa Amini and the killings of the protesters against the mass violations of women’s rights in Iran. We express full solidarity with the brave Iranian women and men who fight against the oppression and discrimination inflicted by the authorities of the Islamic Republic.

ECPC participation at the 5th Gago Conference 2022

The 5thGago Conference on European Science Policy will be held on October 6, 2022, in Heidelberg. Since its first edition, which was held in Porto, Portugal on 14th February 2018, the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC) has been an active part of this forum to include patients in Policy and Research and to empower them in becoming co-creators of their own health.

S&Ds are disappointed with the revision of the European law on the protection of workers from asbestos proposed today by the European Commission. No time should be wasted and no effort spared to limit workers’ exposure to this highly dangerous substance - the main cause of work-related cancers in Europe*. This is clearly a missed opportunity to prove the commitment to the vision of no work-related deaths.

Polish spyware scandal shows the need for European rules to protect innocent citizens

Both MEPs travelled to Warsaw with the European Parliament’s spyware inquiry committee, PEGA*, for a fact-finding mission, and heard from experts, judges, journalists, local politicians, and persons targeted by Pegasus spyware.
