The European Union flag, anthem and motto are to be formally recognised by the European Parliament in October. A proposal to amend Parliament's rules of procedure so as to formalise its use of these symbols was approved by the Constitutional Affairs Committee on Thursday, but still needs to be endorsed in plenary session.

Brussels. A new regulation revising the harmonised rules for maximum residue limits (MRLs) of plant protection products for food and animal feed has  come into force this September. COPA and COGECA welcome this new legislation, confident that it constitutes a foundation for improving consumer confidence in the EU way of producing food.
