The potential of the EU telecoms sector in helping Europe overcome the crisis must be fully exploited, said ETNO in a letter to telecoms ministers on the eve of the EU Telecoms Council to be partly devoted to the impact of the crisis on the sector.

The President of the EPP, Wilfried Martens, today welcomed the founding of the new Italian party Popolo della Liberta (PDL).

Speaking in its first Congress in Rome, President Martens said that PDL shares the same fundamental values of the EPP political family: freedom, justice, dignity of the person, equality and solidarity.

“Taking into accounts its statutes, PDL has a clear idea about the role that a political party should play in a modern society”, he stated.

ExxonMobil’s new Antwerp cogeneration plant to be showcased in Brussels on 21-22 April.

On 23 March ExxonMobil inaugurated its newest high efficiency cogeneration plant at its Antwerp refinery in Belgium. The project will be presented for the first time in Brussels at the opening session of the 15th COGEN Europe’s Annual Conference 2009 on 21-22 April.
