This evening, the S&D Group brought decisive support to build a majority in the EP’s committee on industry, research and energy for the approval of the deal on the Act in Support of Ammunition Production (ASAP). The Ammunition Act was agreed last week among the Member States, the European Parliament and European Commission.

European Parliament lends its support to a fair cost-based approach on EMA fees

The European Parliament ENVI committee has recognised the importance of a fair, cost-based approach for the EMA fee system in line with the European Court of Auditors. This comes together with a simpler fee structure, adequate financing and transparent evaluation of costs with the objective to provide equitable support to the EMA and the national competent authorities (NCAs) conducting assessments and other activities on behalf of EMA.

Tomorrow, Spain takes over the presidency of the EU Council. Over the next six months, the Spanish government will try to find a consensus among EU member states to negotiate important files with the European Parliament.
