European faith-based networks worried about EU’s role at UN Climate Change Conference

Brussels, 27 October 2009 - The Secretary General of Caritas Europa, along with the Secretary Generals of two other faith-based networks (Aprodev and CIDSE), sent a letter yesterday to top EU decision-makers asking them to ensure that the European Council will show leadership towards a more sustainable and equitable economic future for the world.

La mission de l'expert désigné par la Fédération Nationale de l'Aviation Marchande (FNAM) et mandaté par la Direction du Travail du Val de Marne, dans le cadre du conflit Servisair à Orly, s'est terminée le 20 octobre par un accord entre Servisair, WFS et GEH pour la reprise de tous les personnels de Servisair travaillant à Orly Sud.

Cet accord comporte des actions de formation pour lesquelles la FNAM va proposer aux organisations syndicales de la branche une prise en charge spécifique sur les fonds de la professionnalisation.

I am obliged to tell you, Commissioner, that the proposed financial provisions are only a small drop of water in an ocean of crisis and despair.

Firstly, why do you only announce €280 million in aid today, when there was some discussion about €600 million? You say that you are restricted by the budget, that you are held back by financial restraints. But how can you explain the fact that many billions were found when it was wanted, to rescue the banks which today abound in profit and that small and medium-sized farmers are left in bankruptcy and ruin.

For the last three months there has been much speculation over the possible entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, which my parliamentary group, for good reasons, is against.

We want a social Europe, instead of this radical market orientation. We want disarmament, instead of "improved military capabilities". We want more direct democracy, rather than a Europe of the elites.
