CPME Subcommittees and Board met on 23 and 24 October 2009 in Winchester, United Kingdom.

The European Competitive Telecoms Association, ECTA, welcomes the Commission’s Digital Dividend proposals due at the end of this month, which make recommendations to allocate the airwaves (spectrum) that will be freed up and made available for mobile broadband in a number of Member States in the coming years as analogue TV is switched off. It particularly congratulates the Commissioner for fostering one, European approach rather than 27 national ones

COPA-COGECA WELCOMES COMMISSION PLANS TO IMPROVE FUNCTIONING OF FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN BUT ARGUES MORE ACTION IS VITAL

Copa-Cogeca welcomed in Brussels today the EU Commissions’ plans designed to improve the functioning of the EU food supply chain as a step in the right direction, but warns that much stronger measures are urgently required to ensure that producers and cooperatives position in the food chain is strengthened.

Local Enterprises Providing Public Services – A New Foundation for Sustainability

The 12th Annual CEEP conference of Local Enterprises gathered around 120 participants and high level speakers from European enterprises, the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Swedish Presidency of the Council.

The debate focussed on the effects of the global crisis on Local Enterprises providing Public Services and most importantly, on the way to find solutions out of the crisis.

EurActiv strengthens top management

New Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and board member
