This afternoon, in a meeting of the Parliament's Internal Market and Consumers Affairs Committee (IMCO), former Commissioner Prof. Mario MONTI, presented his report "New strategy to relaunch the Single Market". Liberals and Democrats welcome Monti's report in both his observations and in many of his proposals.

The agreement reached early this morning involving all the EU Institutions to give a robust and sustainable framework for monetary union, is welcome news for the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe who since the beginning of the crisis have argued for a European solution.

CEEP welcomes the work by the Reflection group and the attempt to look to the long term ofEurope 2030 challenges.
