A floundered chance to check harmful speculation

Calling new rules on 'alternative funds' including hedge funds and private equity a "missed opportunity", German GUE/NGL MEP Jürgen Klute said today's EP vote on the AIFM directive fell far short of what was required to effectively regulate hedge funds.

"Council has missed an opportunity here. It bowed down to the intense lobbying of the finance industry and the UK government, undermining efforts to put in place effective regulation at European level" he said after the vote.

iCARS Network – Towards deployment of ICT in Transport

The FIA European Bureau is announcing the successful completion of the iCars Network project designed to contributed to the deployment of transport ICT technologies (or ITS – “Intelligent Transport Systems").

For a period of two years, 16 European organizations, lead by  the  FIA European Bureau, gathered to exchange knowledge and experience on  deployment of  transport ICT technologies and share them among a wide variety of stakeholders.

Four specific topics have been in-depth analysed within the iCars Network thematic groups, which led to the following outcome:
