ReachCentrum’s 105 consortia successfully pass first REACH registration deadline - Professional services body announces successful management of joint registration for 400 substances in 2010 across more than 100 consortia

BRUSSELS, December 1, 2010 – The day after the first REACH deadline of 30 November 2010, ReachCentrum, the Cefic subsidiary, announced that the number of lead dossiers registered has been 400 for 105 managed consortia.

The success of the operation is corroborated by the data related to the letter of access e-shop set up by ReachCentrum earlier this year. Through the purchase of the e-shop, 342 SIEFs allowed their SIEF members to access the registration dossier, fulfilling their financial obligation and receiving the required information to complete their own dossiers.

REACH deadline arrives for European chemical industry -First registration a first step as industry works towards next registration deadlines

BRUSSELS, December 1, 2010 – The first REACH deadline arrived at midnight yesterday. More than 24,000 dossiers have been submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki.

Implementing the first phase of REACH registration has taken a lot of hard work and represented a steep learning curve for the chemical industry. The industry had to tackle complex questions such as the organisation of Substance Information Exchange Forums (SIEFs), which required data and cost sharing, appointing lead registrants and issuing letters of access.
