Cancún, COP16 – Public transport makes the planet breathe

At the closing of the 16th edition of Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP16), today in Cancún the International Association of Public Transport stresses the positive impact of public transport on climate change and green economy, and highlights therefore the urgent need to include transport, and more specifically urban transport, in climate policy.

The President of the Centre for European Studies, Wilfried Martens, expressed his deep sorrow about the loss of Dr. Peter Weilemann who passed away last night.

Peter Weilemann was the Director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Brussels, and a founding member and a member of the Executive Board of the Centre for European Studies, the official think tank of the EPP.

Towards a sustainable strategy for the Danube region

The European Commission released today a communication on the EU Action plan for the Danube region. GUE/NGL MEPS protest refusal of visa for Pakistani trade union activist

GUE/NGL MEPs today expressed anger at the refusal by Belgian authorities to grant a visa to Pakistani trade unionist Khalid Mehmood to attend the group's hearing in the European Parliament in Brussels on conflict prevention in Asia and Africa.
