CEN publishes Agreement on Responsible Remote Gambling Measures

Brussels, 24 February 2011 – The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) published today the CEN Workshop Agreement “Responsible Remote Gambling Measures” aimed at securing a high level of protection of online players in the European Union.

Record numbers take ACCA exams

Results from the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) examinations in December reveal that a record 205,000 sat papers, with more than 6,000 taking a major step towards membership of the global body for professional accountants.

Candidates around the world took more than 397,000 papers, with 6,420 students successfully completing their final ACCA exams and a further 2,926 students completing the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) exams.

The EPP Group welcomes the Small Business Act (SBA) midterm review presented by European Commission Vice-President Antonio Tajani, and expresses its support for the new proposals which have been made. President of European Liberals on Libya: EU must follow calls of liberal governments

European Liberals utterly condemn the escalation of violence in Libya. “This is appalling”, expressed ELDR Party President Annemie Neyts-Uyttebroeck MEP. “A regime that shoots and bombs its own people has lost any legitimacy it might have had”, she said.

European Liberals fully support German Foreign Minister and liberal party leader Guido Westerwelle’s call for sanctions on Libya, co-initiated with the Finnish liberal-led government.
