South-East European Forum on Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy & Waste Management (Sofia, Bulgaria, 13-15 April 2011)

The forum will gather over 800 international and regional experts during the three days of business and networking. Ethanol Summit 2011 Emphasizes Brazil's Role in Global Quest for Low-Carbon Solutions

 

São Paulo, February 23, 2011 - The third edition of one of the world's top events dedicated to renewable energies, with special focus on ethanol and other sugarcane by-products, is confirmed for June 6th and 7th. The Ethanol Summit, launched in 2007 and held every two years, is organized by the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA).

TAP and Croatia gas pipeline operator Plinacro sign South East Europe MOUC

Baar, Switzerland. The Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG and Plinacro Ltd., a natural gas transmission system operator in Croatia, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation (MOUC) aimed at encouraging the development of natural gas markets in South East Europe (SEE).

The three-year agreement will enable both organisations to coordinate their activities and exchange technical information. TAP and Plinacro already individually support the security of supply and diversification of gas resources in the region.

EU must be fully prepared for dealing with migrants fleeing persecution in Libya

As the situation on the ground in Libya deteriorates with the Gaddafi regime entrenching its hardline position and threatening to kill all opponents, the European Union must seek urgently prevent a humanitarian disaster but also prepare a contingency plan for the possible mass flux of refugees fleeing the country and seeking temporary sanctuary across the Mediterranean.

Gadaffi's mass-killings in Libya: the EU must adopt urgent measures against Gadaffi's dictatorship. Debate in Parliament required. Joseph Daul MEP, Chairman of the EPP Group, and Ioannis Kasoulides MEP

The EPP Group will request that a debate be held during the Parliament's meeting in early March in Strasbourg with the participation of the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs to decide on urgent measures to adopt against Muammar Gadaffi's appalling dictatorship in Libya.

 

PES Member parties call for a tough stance on economic governance

The PES Presidency unanimously adopted today a statement establishing a strong common position on European Economic Governance. The PES, which is the largest political force opposing the conservatives in the European Institutions, is determined to oppose any reforms which undermine social progress, jobs and economic growth.
