Last night, we took a major step towards ending the widespread practice of abusive lawsuits aimed at silencing journalists, NGOs, human and environmental rights defenders and civil society, thanks to a political agreement reached between the European Parliament and the Council. 

ICLEI Action Fund 2.0 launches call for applications: 1 Million EUR to support data-driven climate action in Greece

The ICLEI Action Fund, an initiative led by ICLEI Europe through grant funding from Google.org, has launched a new one-million EUR funding scheme in Greece to foster data-driven environmental and climate action at the local level. The funding aims to address pressing challenges posed by climate change in Greek cities and is directed toward cities that are both part of the EU Mission for Climate Neutral and Smart Cities and signatories of the EU Mission for Adaptation to Climate Change.

This agreement marks a crucial step forward in ensuring robust measures for environmental and human health protection, by preventing and reducing toxic emissions into air, water, and soil from a wide array of industrial sources*.

Henrik Adam elected new EUROFER President

Brussels, 23 November 2023 – The European Steel Association (EUROFER) has elected a new Board, President and Vice-Presidents (see Annex). Henrik Adam has been appointed as President of the organisation for a two-year term. He succeeds Francesc Rubiralta Rubió, who has led EUROFER since 2022. The Steel Association of Ukraine has also been accepted as a member.
