Adoption of CARS 21 Interim Report – FIGIEFA calls for a holistic approach by including the aftermarket perspective

The CARS 21 High Level Group on 1 December 2011 adopted its interim report which covers the group’s consensus on the topics covered by it so far. FIGIEFA welcomes the CARS 21 process but is disappointed that the focus of the Interim Report centres almost exclusively on the manufacturing side of the automotive sector.

Joint Statement of the European Medical Organisations on the review of Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications

We, as representatives of the undersigned European Medical Organisations, take the opportunity to jointly highlight the driving principles to be considered by European decision-makers when reviewing the Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications. We emphasise the following fundamental principles:
• The safe mobility of physicians based on automatic recognition of qualifications must be guaranteed. The EU’s legislative framework should facilitate the free movement of medical professionals.

"From today, riding a motorbike has become greener and safer", said EPP Group Rapporteur Wim van de Camp MEP, after the vote on his Report 'Approval and market surveillance of two, three and four-wheel vehicles (L-category)' yesterday in the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee of the European Parliament. The Report indicates the conditions that the motorcycle industry has to take into account to market their products on and off-road.
